John Pearson, Trumpet/Cornet

John Pearson is a native of Santa Rosa, California. He performs regularly with the San Francisco Ballet Orchestra and has been a member of the San Francisco Opera Orchestra since 1990.

John began his career in San Francisco by playing nightly for the musical revue Beach Blanket Babylon. During this time he studied with Joseph Alessi at San Francisco State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Music degree. He then continued his studies at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, where he co-founded the San Francisco Brass. In 1986 he toured with the San Francisco Brass to Africa and the Middle East.

John has performed as a soloist with the Santa Rosa Symphony, the Oakland Symphony, and the “Donald Runnicles and Friends” concert series. He lives in Oakland with his wife Bonnie, their two daughters Lily and Ella, and their cat Shadow.
