Victor Fierro, Assistant Principal Cello

Victor Fierro (1952 – 2020) was Assistant Principal Cellist with the San Francisco Ballet Orchestra since 1978 and also performed with the San Diego and Honolulu Symphonies.

Victor earned a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Southern California, with advanced studies at USC and in San Francisco. His principal teachers were Gabor Rejto and Laszlo Varga. Victor was a participant in Gregor Piatigorsky‘s last Master Class at USC in 1975 and 1976. Chamber music studies were with the Pro Arte Quartet, Alice Schoenfeld, and Milton Thomas.

Victor also worked as a real estate agent where he enjoyed helping others purchase and sell their homes. Victor loved tennis, biking, running and gardening. He was a big nature and animal lover his entire life.
