Michael Cox is currently the Second Trombone of the San Francisco Ballet Orchestra. He has previously served as Principal Trombone of the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra as well as the Quad City Symphony Orchestra. Michael has also performed with the New York Philharmonic, Boston Symphony Orchestra, Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Sarasota Orchestra, and Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra.

Michael has been a fellow of the New York Philharmonic Global Academy, the Tanglewood Festival, and Music Academy of the West. He was also an associate member of the Civic Orchestra of Chicago. His primary teachers include Toby Oft, Michael Mulcahy, Tim Higgins, and Douglas Wright.

Outside of the orchestra, Michael enjoys cooking, hiking, and playing chess.
